I feel sad for this Project Green. Not a whole lot of people submitted fan art.
So I broke out the ol' pen and paper and set myself to sketchin'. But this ain't your ordinary fanart! No sirree! You see, this picrture was drawn with a specific purpose, it was. This picture was made to be the "album art" (as it were) for a whole playlist/mixtape/theme disc I put together for BG&E!
Fun fact about me: I absolutely love making themed playlists around things. Those who read my journal know this, but for the rest of y'all, I'll just throw it out there. I am statistically (read: I have no idea if this is really true at all) more likely to like a song if I can relate it to one of my fandoms or projects. In fact, when I hear a song for the first time, I'll usually try to relate its melody or lyrics to something I've made and/or like. I've been wanting to make a full-on BGE fanmix for a while, but I wanted to do some nice art for it. So I did!
Regarding the art itself: I've drawn Pey'j several times on my own, but I've never really been satisfied with any of my drawings of him. Probably because he's all big and round and I'm no good at drawing big, round characters. He came out... OK-ish here. Still, his arm looks all funny. On a much happier note, the built-in "confetti" brush that comes with the GIMP makes great leaves and leaf shadows!
Regarding the music: Warning for those of you who click! I have weird taste in music! A lot of my tastes do sort of slide towards the "rock" end of the spectrum, but still, there's a pretty wide variety of rock represented above. You've got your classic rock, your modern alt rock, punk rock, "We Are" is a little bit grungy, and... I don't even know what genre The Killers are, man. But this mix also features a couple of vocal video game mixes, and... Disney, apparently. Seriously, there are not one but three Disney songs in this mess. What is my deal, man?
Originally I was going to impose a "one song per artist" limit on this, but I couldn't decide which of the two Superchick songs was more awesome, so I just said "screw it" and used both of them. Which is also how I ended up with two Action Design songs and two Rob Thomas songs. There was almost a Matchbox 20 song in here, too ("How Far we've Come," for the curious), but I decided that's just way too much Rob Thomas for anyone but me. Also, The Action Design is a really obscure band and I couldn't find a quality copy of "Half a World" anywhere on Youtube, so I had to upload it myself. I thought for a moment I'd just leave it off the Youtube version of this mix, but I couldn't, because... well, listen to it! If ever a song screamed "BG&E," it does.
Also, if you're wondering why I named this mix after "Stay With You," it's because it's one of my favorite songs on this mix. It's also a song I've always thought really fit the relationship between the members of Team Jade pretty well.
This mix is in rough chronlogical order of where the songs fit in the game! Some of them are more fitting for certain spots than others. Some songs are pretty clearly tied to specific scenes (like "Funnyman," "Transformation," and "Her Diamonds"), others just sort of generically fit the game and I squeezed them into roughly approximate spots ("We Are," "For What It's worth"). The three bonus tracks are songs that didn't really fit what I was going for with this mix, but I figured they deserved a nod in some fashion, so, here you go.

Jaded - Aerosmith
REJECTED BECAUSE: It doesn't have anything to do with the game! Seriously! But it seems people totally adore the pun here. "Oooh, the song's called 'Jaded!' Totally perfect for Jade amirite?" Uh, no. But it seems like the pun won't die, so it gets to be a bonus track.
Toi Plus Moi - Gregorie
REJECTED BECAUSE: It's in French, which I don't speak, though I do understand the lyrics to be rather fitting. Plus, I kind of wanted a monolingual mix for the sake of consistency (though I was seriously, seriously tempted to throw some JPop in there). Still, French is the game's original language, so it gets a bonus track nod.
Fight For You - I Fight Dragons
REJECTED BECAUSE: It's not platonic enough. I tried to stick to songs that weren't necessarily romantic, because this is a general theme mix and not a shipping mix. But the more I listened to this, well, it's hard to interpret the line "If you'll be mine, then I will fight for you" as anything but romantic. Still, the song's awesome. \
I learned of "We Are" and "Toi Plus Moi" through BG&E fanvids, so thanks to the people who made those vids for introducing me to those songs!

'Half A World' sounds really great, and it's indeed very fitting, although I personally connect it more to Pey'J than to Jade. The lyrics remind me of someone who knows how it's like to be on the run - not only the actual getting away, but how the feeling of such a life is.
The art itself isn't perfect, but it evokes one feeling for me: peace and company. They just don't sit under the same tree next to each other. They sit with each other, together enjoying the day. The detail of the cable and ears buds to the S.A.C. fits the device, and adds to the picture's atmosphere.
